03 January 2010 - Happy New Year

Happy 2010I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy new year and trust that you had a great Christmas break.

Not only do we celebrate the start of a new year but also the start of a new decade and we pray that the coming years will be filled with great and wonderful things for you all.

As the new year starts many of us will have determined to change some aspect of out lives that we have not been happy with in previous years by making new years resolutions. Perhaps you have determined to take more exercise, eat healthier or be a better person in some aspect of your life.

What I have found is although well intentioned, new years resolutions in and of themselves seldom effect lasting change, we sometimes need additional help and assistance outside of our own strength.

At times that help comes in the form of someone just encouraging you to keep going and not to lose heart, at other times it just takes someone else holding you accountable to a course of action you have agreed to commit to.

As Christians we have come to understand that its not just external help we need to make lasting change but most importantly its change on the inside that helps us to accomplish our lifetime goals - these goals are what we know to be God's plans for our lives - that is to become just like him.
God provides that strength on the inside through the life of Christ living in us and through us. The Apostle Paul puts it like this in writing to the Church in Philippi "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13) he wanted them to know that despite the many challenges they faced in life, they would always find the strength they needed to accomplish all God's plans for them through Christ living on the inside.

The same is true for all of us, not so much that we can do anything we please, but more importantly we can become and do all that God created and purposed for our lives to please him.

As you enter into 2010 and like years past, your new years resolutions have come and gone, why not try asking God to help you make some permanent changes for the better in your life by allowing Jesus Christ to live out his purposes in you and through you - you may find yourself never having to make another new years resolution again!

As we look forward into 2010, the next few months will be focused on getting Sandra back to the best possible state of health. She was unwell over the Christmas period but has started to regain her strength over the last few days and is now much better and we even been able to go for a few short walks.

Although she was not totally discharged from hospital before Christmas she was able to spend some time with us at home. During the first few weeks of the new year, she will be reassessed with a view to putting the necessary support systems in place to best aid her recovery from home.

We earnestly covet your continuing prayers for Sandra and us as a family, that God would not only grant us his continuing grace and strength but also much of his wisdom as we plan her ongoing care and recovery.

With much love,

Kevin and family

28 December 2009 - Prayer Support

Just a note on behalf of Kevin to say that Sandra has not been very well over the Christmas period and has since received hospital treatment. She is now at home resting and making good recovery.

We would however like to call on your continued prayer support at this time that the Lord Jesus will continue to minister total healing in Sandra's life and that she will recover all. We will not waver in the face of difficulty but will have every confidence in the 'Words of Life' as declared in scripture (Isaiah 55:11).

Please pray also for Kevin, Andrew and Andrea that they will be constantly strengthened through this journey.

Thank you for your love and prayers of support.

24 December 2009 - Happy Christmas

A new chapter

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.

As we enter this festive season and close the year we are glad to report that although Sandra was not discharged from hospital she will be with us over Christmas.
Obviously as a family we are delighted and this Christmas has its own significance for many reasons.

We pray that you and all your loved ones will know the peace of God, the joy of his Spirit and the life that comes through his Son Jesus Christ this season.
Thanks also for the many gifts, cards and greetings - we appreciate them all.

In your times of prayer please also remember Janet Pye who recently discovered she has cancer and is believing for a miracle as well as everyone with loved ones who are ill and are praying for healing, that God will also minister his love and life to them at this time.

Finally please also pray for those who have lost loved ones this year, that God would grant them his, strength, comfort and peace at this time of year.
God bless you all

Kevin, Sandra and family
